This flower seed pod is that of the pasque flower, or easter flower. It is in the same family as anemone, and the flower is quite beautiful. I will look for it, and post it when I find it.

It is a favorite since I saw it in the alpine region at Paradise at Mt Rainier National Park some years ago. It is also related to crocus. But it is a little furry.

So this plant seed pod called mophead is prolific now at Mt Rainier. With so many purple lupines, and scarlet Indian Paintbrush. The meadows are alive with such beauty. The gardner is amazing!

Mt Rainier is a volcano, for those who don't know. It is in the NW of the US in Washington state with about 5 other volcanoes. Including St Helens.

it is over 14,000' high, but once was a mile taller.
So this little mophead sits upon this beautiful ice covered mount.

Scroll down to my last post to see the meadow.
